Hats Off!... to your hat On!

I have this severe problem (in my eyes) with that fact that my hair literally does not grow past a certain point. I have finally accepted the dilemma (well somewhat) and decided that instead of crying over my awful hair curse I need to just find ways to be creative with how I style it.

However it is hard when you are senior in college and barely want to get up for class let alone take the time to do your hair ...

I used to have very mixed reviews about how I felt about that "cover-up your bad hair day" hat .. but I have begun to grow very fond of the trend whether you are having a bad hair day or not.. especially for girls like me .. who have bad hair days every day.

Now I'll be honest I don't think I look very FAB in hats, but once in while it really does the trick! Especially with summer coming up.. the fedora is a perfect pool accessory. And for the cold foggy bay area days.. there is always the slouchy knitted hat.. however you may need to add some curls to get this one to look chic.

I think Hilary pulls off both these looks so well!! Now if only I had her same hair.. looks like I'm stuck in the Lizzie McGuire days :(

Dress For The Occasion

Well I am back from my vacation, which means back to my blog and back to school.

However since graduation is just around the corner I have begun my search for a cute dress and shoes to wear on the iconic day. I have decided to go with a short-chic dress and wedges, but haven't exactly found the final decision.

Here are a few ideas in the running...

(Backstage Glam Rock Dress in Ivory)

(Winter Kate by Nicole Richie Darter Dress)

(Daftbird Open Back Dress in Black)

Let's be real.. we all know we go to the ceremony for our parent's, but we look the part for our peers.

Which one do you think is the most FAB??

Luck of the Irish

Since today is Saint Patrick's day I figured I should do a post about something GREEN. However I do have my reservations considering I don't think GREEN is that flattering of a color... but I'll see what I can do.

Now obviously my favorite GREEN is money, but since today is my parent's anniversary I am going to steer clear of my selfish ways. Instead I will honor/represent both of them in this post.

My first favorite GREEN item is included in my own wardrobe thanks to my mamacita who so kindly made an impulse purchase for me down in L.A. last summer, when I convinced her that I NEEDED these pants! P.S. whoever says cargo is so NOT in.. you are SO wrong.. (unless you're talking about guy's cargos.. cause then you are RIGHT... they are NEVER in!)

                                                          (Jessica Alba in JBrand Cargos)

Now that I think about it this is probably what I will be rockin' today...

Like I said before I don't think GREEN is very flattering, unless it is minimal.. so another way to rock GREEN without being over-the-top is by accessorizing with the color..

(Cameron Diaz with Marc Jacobs Purse in Green)

(Tory Burch flip-flops with a TOUCH of Green)

Now for those of you have a different style then mine and don't necessarily go for designer brands, but rather a more comfy/athletic look you can always follow my "trendy" dad (because if you ask him he has the most style in our family :) ) He even owns a pair of shoes EXTREMELY similar to the ones below..

(New Balance Shoe)

His just seem to be a little more masculine.. so if you are bold enough..

Hope you all have a FABulous ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie, Rockin' Everywhere

I know that in many of my posts I talk about how I am OBSESSED with the item, which is probably true because I'm OBSESSED with fashion and passion only makes for the best expression, right?

However I am REALLY OBSESSED with over the foot sandals, heels, booties, etc. trend going on. I even recently added a new shoe to my collection.. it's Tory Burch (see below)... who would have thought!? :)

(Tory Burch, Oren Bootie)

Besides these booties I also have black Steve Madden Booties, and B.P. sandals that cover the front of my foot-- and wear them ALL THE TIME! I just love how SASSy this type of shoe is, especially the booties.

I am definitely premiering these in VEGAS!

The fabulous thing about the "over the foot" shoe is that no matter what age you are you can find a pair to fit your style and they bring this refreshing youngness to anyones wardrobe.

Sometimes we forget that EVERYONE can and should be able to look fabulous, so hopefully no matter what you wear you find a way to embrace your inner beauty because you can rock this "bootie" if you aren't loving your own first! xo

Cut it Off

Now that we are into spring and approaching nice weather it's time to start thinking about clothes that keep us cool while looking hot.

I have to say I am a HUGE fan of cutoff shorts, but it is also a trend you have to be super careful with because of the LACK of... material? I think cutoff shorts are super SEXY when done right and by right I mean enough material on top to make up for the little amount on the bottom.

(True Religion, Flap Pocket Denim Shorts)

There is a fine line between sexy and trashy. So you have to make sure you stay on the greener side of that line. A oversized top (like I talked about in my last post) works perfectly with these itty bitty shorts.

Just think summer is when you ditch that unappreciative boyfriend and hit the beach. So looking HOT is a must and it can be extremely easy and simple with a cute pair of shorts. And trust me when that old boyfriend sees you he will be the one hurting.. and what girl doesn't love that!

Peace. Love. and CLOTHES.

You know why I love clothes? They always fit. And I don't mean this in the sense that you walk into a store and everything is going to fit you perfectly. I mean your clothes. You buy them to fit you. To fit who you are. You buy them because they make you feel and look good. Once you buy them you know exactly what you are getting every time you put that item on. You don't have to worry about them trying to change you. You wear the clothes... the clothes don't wear you.

On that note, I think my favorite trend right now is the oversized, baggy tops. (Just ask my mom). My wardrobe seems to consist of more then the necessary amount of them-- just in different colors. I love how they just flow over your shoulders and you can wear them on a good day, a bad day, a wacky hair day, and I still think they look so chic and "hip". If you don't have something like it yet.. I'd say it's a MUST to add to your collection. They just always seem to fit. :)

Once You Go BLACK, You Never Go Back...

Since it is March there is only one thing I have on my mind.. SPRING BREAK! This spring break I am off to Arizona with my mom for Spring Training, as well as to look at apartments for my upcoming move this summer.. After Arizona I am home for two days before quickly whisking off to VEGASSSS with my crazy roommates!

Now when it comes to Vegas most people say it's all about who you know... but I say.. it's all about WHAT YOU WEAR! Now in order to look FAB there are a few things you need... HEELS. check. SEQUINS. check. and of course a LITTLE BLACK DRESS.

(The Kardashians in LBD)

I love black because not only is it slimming, but also the best to match with a colorful and fun heel. I mean what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?.. Except for pictures.. those always end up on Facebook.

Sticks And Stones Make Break My Bones, But Chains And Whips Excite Me

On any given night before we head to the Walrus you can ask any girl in the 1075 house what she is wearing and she will respond with "ugh, I have nothing to wear!" or "I don't know I can't find anything!". Well both of these are obviously lies because you should see the size of our closets and the massive amounts of clothes overflowing them. The truth is no matter how big your wardrobe you are bound to get sick of it every once in while (usually because we find ourselves picking favorites and wearing the same items over and over. guilty.).

The best way to solve this problem... ACCESSORIES!!

Now introducing the chain gang. by Forever21.

Just like I am currently into RiRi's new song, I am totally into chains as well, but in a very different way! ... Chains in a fashion sense ...

These three new necklaces from Forevs can totally transform your outfit from school time to PARTY time. Or just to look EXTRA FABULOUS! Plus they are super cheap! Perfect.

Infinity and Beyond...

My friend Ashley came over to my house this past Christmas Break and picked up a scarf that was laying on my floor. She proceeded to put it on as I laughed when she found herself tangled in it. I guess she missed the idea of the infinity scarf.

(Tolani Infinity Scarf in Leopard)

These scarves are my new favorite accessory. They are so simple yet so versatile. I wear mine out and to school as well. Living in Colorado I don't always dress appropriately for the cold, (let's be real.. I don't in Santa Cruz either) mainly because we all know looking fabulous is so much more important than being warm. These scarves however give me the ability to stay warm and look ohhh sooo FIERCE. I love that you can wear them with anything as well as wear them so many different ways. This cheetah print one is not yet in my wardrobe, but I am OBSESSED! Animal print is SO in! .. just ask Forever21.

Hello Sunshine, Hello Sale!

Waking up and getting ready for a long day of school and homework is not really my ideal day. I'd much rather be laying on the beach somewhere warm with my closest friends and drinking lemonade. Now since our everyday fantasies are very rarely realities we have to find ways to cope with boring classes and endless amounts of tedious schoolwork...

What to do? .. Check Facebook, Check the weather, Check our email..

Then THERE IT IS that email you've been anxiously waiting for .. the one to inform you that there is a SALE!! SALE!! SALE!! You suddenly grow giddy and excited to see if any of those items you've been dying to have, (but can't afford) are now yours for the taking.. and the appropriate price!

And so today it happened.. the shoe I gently pick up and hold carefully in my hand every time I make an appearance in  the "Salon Shoes"department in Nordstrom. It's so elegant and classy, unique and glamorous. Plus it just calls my name (LITERALLY).

Now the decision is not how or if.. it's WHEN?!

                                                      (Tory Burch, "Erinn" Studded Pump)

Nothing tastes as good as SKINNY feels. except chocolate of course.

Just because you may not be the slimmest waist in the dressing room doesn't mean you can't leave looking the most FABulous.
Hudson skinnies are my absolute fave. For girls like me (who's mom's say they have no butt) well here is your solution. Who says you can't be skinny and bootylicious too?
Sure shoes are fierce and tops are sexy, but it's the jeans that give you the sASS. Making your legs look longer and your butt look bigger, it's a win/win I must say.

The Classic

(Tory Burch, Camille Pump)

Just like there will always be new trends there will always be new relationships that come in and out of our lives. They always make you the happiest when you first purchase them, but over time the relationship grows old, the trend fades, and the look just doesn't fit you anymore. The shoe losses it's shine and the top just doesn't seem to ever match the bottom. The excitement and joy disappears and now it feels more like a burden then anything.

The classic is a different story however. The classic is your old friend. It always seems to have a place in your closet and your life. It always goes with the new trend and you never seem to get sick of it. Every time you wear it, it makes you just as happy as the first time you laid eyes on it. You may not wear it or forget about it for a while, but when you reunite all the positive feelings and emotions return. You pick up right where you left off and you feel as confident as ever.

The classic gives you the power to make any outfit or any mood the perfect fit.
