WILD for WILDFOX

Now ever since I moved to LA I have had my eye on two pieces that I truly long for and NEED to have.
First off being the red jbrand twill skinnys (noted in the jbrand blog post) and the comfiest sweatshirt I have ever had draped over my awkwardly sized torso.

Hail to WILDFOX and there ever SO amazing clothing/fabrics.

Now you'd think living in LA compared to Colorado that jeans and a sweatshirt wouldn't be the main items on my long list of "dying for" purchases.. well guess what FALSE--> LA is NOT ALWAYS WARM!! take note of this past weeks weather :/

Either way though a girl can never have too many bright colored jeans and definitely NEVER too many cute, sassy, and most importantly comfy sweaters!!

Here is Taylor in the white one.. however I prefer the grey with a pink heart, but don't worry tswift you still look fierce!

Colors make the FASHION world go round...

Hi my lovely fashionista(o)s! I know that my "blogging" has been slackin', which is weird considering I still don't have a job, but truth is there is just SO much to do in LA LA land that you can always keep yourself busy!

Now that I am surviving LA, I am happily embracing all of the AMAzing fashion and creative spirit that comes with this beautiful city.

However there is one trend that I have carried over from my good old days in ColoRADo... and that is my OBSESSION with J Brands Colorful Collection of Jeans...

TRUST ME you need to at least own one color of this line! They are bright, fun, and comfy! They can totally spice up a boring wardrobe!

So far I have the Royal pants, and the purple shorts.. but coming this week I am heading to the J Brand Warehouse and picking up a pair of the RED pants! HOT HOT HOT!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LA LA LAND!!

I always find myself extremely nervous when I move. I tend to go out on a limb when it comes to my ventures and they don't always work out.

However, sometimes they do. Now even though ColoRADo was amazing, sadly it's time to move on..

so..

HELLO LOS ANGELES!!

Now even though I have only been here a few days, don't worry, I have already scoped out all the shops in my area and let me tell you.. FABULOUSSSSS!

Fred Segal, Kitson, Nordstrom, Tory Burch, and some really cool European stores all within a few blocks! ..
now in reality this is DANGEROUS, but I'm going to escape reality for a second and say WELCOME TO HEAVEN!

I love LA because no matter the day, the weather, or the location, you can always go ALL out when it comes to FASHION.

It's not always easy to take risks, but I think it's time to sTEP IT Up. Now even though I may miss Colorado and the life I had there, I am definitely looking forward to all the new adventures to come in the cItY oF aNgElS.

So here is to the warm California sun, crazy new friends, hopefully a fun job, and tons of FABulous fashion!

MOVE OVER LAUREN CONRAD.. HERE I COME!!
(t-shirt and all :) )

Clutch This!

It is starting to hit me that my road to LA LA land is coming up quite quickly and even though I have been working full-time and making a decent amount of money (for retail) -- that money is disappearing like baked goods in the 1075 house -- INSTANTLY!

I am convinced however that the purchases I make our strictly in order to step up my fashionista game in the land of fame and fortune.

Now besides the money side of Nordstrom I am also falling in love with so many trends and certain pieces that I think really make you stand out from a crowd when it comes to fashion.

Now everyone can have a cute little wristlet or a cross body bag, but how many people (especially in say, boulder) do you see carrying a FABulous clutch? -- trust me it's rare.. maybe one person named Kendra, but she graduated.

Point is the oversized clutch is my FAVORITE accessory right now, so mom don't be mad when I spend a little extra so I can rock my own purple YSL.

So much for oversized bags! Now that we don't have books to carry around it's time to sport something a little more-- CHIC.

Fringe, Florals, and Flows, OH MY!

Every once in a while I absolutely fall in LOVE with a designer. And by love I mean LOVE! I will look at their collections endlessly until I finally own a few of my own pieces. There are some designers I will always be obsessed with, such as Tory Burch and Marc Jacobs. But my little "love flings" are different.

Recently my love has fallen into the hands of one very skinny, but fabulous designer, by the name of Nicole Richie.

Nicole has several different lines all of which have a fun vintage touch with a modern twist. Now even though House of Harlow is awesome.. it is WINTER KATE that I am in love with!

Looking at the picture of Nicole in one of her ever so FABulous tops and reading my previous blog posts I am sure you can put two and two together and figure out why I love this collection OH SO MUCH!

Now the only thing about Winter Kate and mines relationship is ... she ain't a cheap date! So as much as I love her I have to hunt her down at the Rack in order to afford her.. but don't worry I've already had some wins in this relationship!

Let's be real, who needs boys, when you have FASHION.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

I love fashion and the way it can make me feel. I know I've said that before in my earlier blogs, but I mean it. A cute shoe... the prefect bag.. and a top that can hide even the biggest of flaws.

Fashion is where I find my own beauty.

We are always surrounding by other who bring us down, those who make us feel like no matter how hard we try ... for them, we will never be good enough. To them we are just last year's pair of designer sunglasses and they are ready for a newer, shinier pair.. and as for us.. well we are left broken and tweaked.

Every once and a while I have these moments (recently more then usual) where I just don't feel like myself.  When these days come along I find the best way to cheer myself up is to treat myself to something I have had my eye on for a while.. now usually this isn't just anything.. rather a piece that is funky and different one that will only be worn every so often.

INTRODUCING THE BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST, MOST FABULOUS SHOE I NOW OWN!!

Yes they are tall, yes the are bright blue, and YES I will be wearing them!!

Thank you Jeffrey Campbell for being there for me when others weren't! :)

And the next time you feel down.. don't hesitate to TREAT yourself. We are all beautiful and we all deserve to feel happiness... even if it is just when you put on that FABulous shoe!

Back in Style

It has been quite sometime since I have updated, but the lack of ideas and opinions have only been lost in cyberspace-- in fact they've been rather abundant in my reality.

Now that I am a college graduate I have had to transition into working full time and let me tell you (even though you probably already know) it is... EXHAUSTING! I am definitely fond of the absence of homework and midterms, but my feet are in some major need of a pedicure and Starbucks is beginning to become an expensive addiction. College is nothing compared to the real world.

Luckily however I am working at Nordstrom and therefore am surrounded by my favorite thing-- FASHION. The smell of new Prada leather, a FABulous Vince top, and even the littlest TOMS shoes I have ever laid my eyes on!

Yes, FASHION. The one thing I will forever remain most passionate about. However the passion definitely takes a toll on my wallet-- and by my wallet I mean mine and my parent's wallets. They may call it a shopping addiction-- I however like to refer to it as research! :)

Anyways hopefully now that I am finally adjusting I will be able to rejoin you in this technological world we call 2011 and provide you with even better posts!

Just picture Jeffrey Campbell... Winter Kate.. Burberry... and so many other AMAZZZZZing designers!

Lots to come.. so Stay tuned :)

BoChic the Free Peeps

Now that summer is just around the corner it seems like everywhere you look there is an advertisement for some sort of music festival-- whether it be the star studded Coachella festival in Palm Springs or Lalapalooza in Chicago. Either way you have to learn how to dress the part if you're going to fit in with these boho crowds.

My suggestion--> FREE PEOPLE.

For me Free People is totally hit or miss. Sometimes their vintage look at the not so vintage prices doesn't always pull me in, but other times WOW!! it can be FABULOUS!!

Check out some of my favorite items they have in store now..

And hey even if the music festivals aren't your scene there designs are perfect for summer dates, the beach, and a rooftop night at a Boulder bar :) ... at least that's where I'll be!!

Young, Fabulous, and NOT Broke..

Now it seems as though some people find it "fashionable" to spend $1000 on a purse just because it's Dior or Gucci, but what's the point if the bag is UGLY?!

I mean I know it's fun to have labels.. don't get me wrong I would love a Dior purse and I am a Tory Burch FREAK, but trust me it's never worth it to spend money for the label if the bag just isn't right or the shoe just doesn't fit!

Sometimes it's worth it to run over to forever 21 and buy that cute cardigan for $20 instead of $120.

A true fashionista can look like a million bucks .. without spending a million bucks.

Here are some of my own examples ... ENJOY!

(Stella & Jamie, $480.00)
(Cleobella, $125.00)

(Forever 21, $13.80)
(Wildfox, $77.00)

(Love Child, $88.00)
(Forever 21, $2.80)

Spring Fling

                                                                (B.P. "LOTUS" Sandal)

Even though the state of Colorado thinks it's funny to randomly snow in the middle of April and probably around graduation in May, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner. Now even though I can't put away my Hunter and Ugg boots for good-- I can finally whip out my sandal collection.

The last two years Nordstrom has been kind enough to provide my favorite style sandal in both black and beige. Now last year I purchased the style in black, however it looks a little different from this style with a simple suede look. This year however they have switched it up to a more "beach-y" look (which I also LOVE).

I love this kind of sandal because you can dress it up or dress it down. It looks fabulous with jeans, shorts, or even a dress.

I've decided since living in Colorado that you just have to think warm ... So here's to SUNNY thoughts! :)

Wash Out?

So while sitting in class this morning I was being the amazing student I am and researching for my future... and by researching I mean online shopping.. hey, I have to research for my boutique and invest in my wardrobe to get where I wanna be...

Anyways I stumbled upon these jeans and am having trouble deciding whether to purchase them or not.. I have grown fond of jeans that are different, but the only problem is you can't wear them all the time..

(Jet by John Eshaya Splatter Jean in Grey)

So what do you do?... Do you buy them and just hope that you'll love them and look as hot as Nicole Richie or do you pass them up and stick to the same old jean?

Sometimes I feel as though the risk is worth it.. I mean if I am going to move to LA I have to step my game up!

Hats Off!... to your hat On!

I have this severe problem (in my eyes) with that fact that my hair literally does not grow past a certain point. I have finally accepted the dilemma (well somewhat) and decided that instead of crying over my awful hair curse I need to just find ways to be creative with how I style it.

However it is hard when you are senior in college and barely want to get up for class let alone take the time to do your hair ...

I used to have very mixed reviews about how I felt about that "cover-up your bad hair day" hat .. but I have begun to grow very fond of the trend whether you are having a bad hair day or not.. especially for girls like me .. who have bad hair days every day.

Now I'll be honest I don't think I look very FAB in hats, but once in while it really does the trick! Especially with summer coming up.. the fedora is a perfect pool accessory. And for the cold foggy bay area days.. there is always the slouchy knitted hat.. however you may need to add some curls to get this one to look chic.

(Plush, Cable Knit Fleece Lined Slouchy Pom Pom Hat)

                                      (Eugenia Kim, Kurt Velour Fedora)

I think Hilary pulls off both these looks so well!! Now if only I had her same hair.. looks like I'm stuck in the Lizzie McGuire days :(

Dress For The Occasion

Well I am back from my vacation, which means back to my blog and back to school.

However since graduation is just around the corner I have begun my search for a cute dress and shoes to wear on the iconic day. I have decided to go with a short-chic dress and wedges, but haven't exactly found the final decision.

Here are a few ideas in the running...

(Backstage Glam Rock Dress in Ivory)

(Winter Kate by Nicole Richie Darter Dress)

(Daftbird Open Back Dress in Black)

Let's be real.. we all know we go to the ceremony for our parent's, but we look the part for our peers.

Which one do you think is the most FAB??

Luck of the Irish

Since today is Saint Patrick's day I figured I should do a post about something GREEN. However I do have my reservations considering I don't think GREEN is that flattering of a color... but I'll see what I can do.

Now obviously my favorite GREEN is money, but since today is my parent's anniversary I am going to steer clear of my selfish ways. Instead I will honor/represent both of them in this post.

My first favorite GREEN item is included in my own wardrobe thanks to my mamacita who so kindly made an impulse purchase for me down in L.A. last summer, when I convinced her that I NEEDED these pants! P.S. whoever says cargo is so NOT in.. you are SO wrong.. (unless you're talking about guy's cargos.. cause then you are RIGHT... they are NEVER in!)

                                                          (Jessica Alba in JBrand Cargos)

Now that I think about it this is probably what I will be rockin' today...

Like I said before I don't think GREEN is very flattering, unless it is minimal.. so another way to rock GREEN without being over-the-top is by accessorizing with the color..

(Cameron Diaz with Marc Jacobs Purse in Green)

(Tory Burch flip-flops with a TOUCH of Green)

Now for those of you have a different style then mine and don't necessarily go for designer brands, but rather a more comfy/athletic look you can always follow my "trendy" dad (because if you ask him he has the most style in our family :) ) He even owns a pair of shoes EXTREMELY similar to the ones below..

(New Balance Shoe)

His just seem to be a little more masculine.. so if you are bold enough..

Hope you all have a FABulous ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

Bootie, Bootie, Bootie, Rockin' Everywhere

I know that in many of my posts I talk about how I am OBSESSED with the item, which is probably true because I'm OBSESSED with fashion and passion only makes for the best expression, right?

However I am REALLY OBSESSED with over the foot sandals, heels, booties, etc. trend going on. I even recently added a new shoe to my collection.. it's Tory Burch (see below)... who would have thought!? :)

(Tory Burch, Oren Bootie)

Besides these booties I also have black Steve Madden Booties, and B.P. sandals that cover the front of my foot-- and wear them ALL THE TIME! I just love how SASSy this type of shoe is, especially the booties.

I am definitely premiering these in VEGAS!

The fabulous thing about the "over the foot" shoe is that no matter what age you are you can find a pair to fit your style and they bring this refreshing youngness to anyones wardrobe.

Sometimes we forget that EVERYONE can and should be able to look fabulous, so hopefully no matter what you wear you find a way to embrace your inner beauty because you can rock this "bootie" if you aren't loving your own first! xo

Cut it Off

Now that we are into spring and approaching nice weather it's time to start thinking about clothes that keep us cool while looking hot.

I have to say I am a HUGE fan of cutoff shorts, but it is also a trend you have to be super careful with because of the LACK of... material? I think cutoff shorts are super SEXY when done right and by right I mean enough material on top to make up for the little amount on the bottom.

(True Religion, Flap Pocket Denim Shorts)

There is a fine line between sexy and trashy. So you have to make sure you stay on the greener side of that line. A oversized top (like I talked about in my last post) works perfectly with these itty bitty shorts.

Just think summer is when you ditch that unappreciative boyfriend and hit the beach. So looking HOT is a must and it can be extremely easy and simple with a cute pair of shorts. And trust me when that old boyfriend sees you he will be the one hurting.. and what girl doesn't love that!

Peace. Love. and CLOTHES.

You know why I love clothes? They always fit. And I don't mean this in the sense that you walk into a store and everything is going to fit you perfectly. I mean your clothes. You buy them to fit you. To fit who you are. You buy them because they make you feel and look good. Once you buy them you know exactly what you are getting every time you put that item on. You don't have to worry about them trying to change you. You wear the clothes... the clothes don't wear you.

On that note, I think my favorite trend right now is the oversized, baggy tops. (Just ask my mom). My wardrobe seems to consist of more then the necessary amount of them-- just in different colors. I love how they just flow over your shoulders and you can wear them on a good day, a bad day, a wacky hair day, and I still think they look so chic and "hip". If you don't have something like it yet.. I'd say it's a MUST to add to your collection. They just always seem to fit. :)

Once You Go BLACK, You Never Go Back...

Since it is March there is only one thing I have on my mind.. SPRING BREAK! This spring break I am off to Arizona with my mom for Spring Training, as well as to look at apartments for my upcoming move this summer.. After Arizona I am home for two days before quickly whisking off to VEGASSSS with my crazy roommates!

Now when it comes to Vegas most people say it's all about who you know... but I say.. it's all about WHAT YOU WEAR! Now in order to look FAB there are a few things you need... HEELS. check. SEQUINS. check. and of course a LITTLE BLACK DRESS.

(The Kardashians in LBD)

I love black because not only is it slimming, but also the best to match with a colorful and fun heel. I mean what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?.. Except for pictures.. those always end up on Facebook.

Sticks And Stones Make Break My Bones, But Chains And Whips Excite Me

On any given night before we head to the Walrus you can ask any girl in the 1075 house what she is wearing and she will respond with "ugh, I have nothing to wear!" or "I don't know I can't find anything!". Well both of these are obviously lies because you should see the size of our closets and the massive amounts of clothes overflowing them. The truth is no matter how big your wardrobe you are bound to get sick of it every once in while (usually because we find ourselves picking favorites and wearing the same items over and over. guilty.).

The best way to solve this problem... ACCESSORIES!!

Now introducing the chain gang. by Forever21.

Just like I am currently into RiRi's new song, I am totally into chains as well, but in a very different way! ... Chains in a fashion sense ...

These three new necklaces from Forevs can totally transform your outfit from school time to PARTY time. Or just to look EXTRA FABULOUS! Plus they are super cheap! Perfect.

Infinity and Beyond...

My friend Ashley came over to my house this past Christmas Break and picked up a scarf that was laying on my floor. She proceeded to put it on as I laughed when she found herself tangled in it. I guess she missed the idea of the infinity scarf.

(Tolani Infinity Scarf in Leopard)

These scarves are my new favorite accessory. They are so simple yet so versatile. I wear mine out and to school as well. Living in Colorado I don't always dress appropriately for the cold, (let's be real.. I don't in Santa Cruz either) mainly because we all know looking fabulous is so much more important than being warm. These scarves however give me the ability to stay warm and look ohhh sooo FIERCE. I love that you can wear them with anything as well as wear them so many different ways. This cheetah print one is not yet in my wardrobe, but I am OBSESSED! Animal print is SO in! .. just ask Forever21.
